This incredible emulator turns every NES game into 3D

1 July 2016

3DNes is a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator that can display NES games in 3D.

“The software looks at how flat sprites are layered in 2D games and uses this data to create 3D objects”, reports Eurogamer.

With this newest update, the code powering the 3D-shift has also been made open-source, allowing you to tinker with the code yourself.

A word of warning,  while the majority of available NES games work directly with the 3D-mode, others may require a couple of quick fixes.
