Seagate reveals world’s biggest consumer hard drive

19 July 2016

Seagate has announced the world’s largest consumer hard drive reports PCWorld.

The 10TB Barracuda Pro is now the largest internal hard drive you can buy straight off the shelf.

The 10TB Barracuda Pro doesn’t play just the capacity card though.

Seagate also aimed to make it a high-performance hard drive, fitting it with a massive 256MB of cache. The drive also spins along at 7,200rpm rather than the typical, lower-cost 5,400rpm large drives.

The drive currently has a list price of $534.99 (R7,700) and will feature Seagate’s patented 5-year warranty.

There has been no official information regarding South African pricing or availability.
