Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC coming to PS3 3 March

10 February 2011

Activision Blizzard has announced that the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released for PS3 on 3 March, 2011. The DLC has been available for the Xbox 360 version of the game for just over a week now, and PS3 owners will have to wait roughly one month longer than Xbox 360 owners did.

No official release date for the PC version has been confirmed, however it will supposedly follow “later in the quarter”, which ends 31 March.

In the announcement, the publisher also revealed that the DLC, priced at 1200 MSPoints, was downloaded 1.5 million times within the first 24 hours. Apparently, this is 25% more than the first Modern Warfare 2 DLC pack, the Stimulus Pack, achieved in its first day.

Despite vocal complaints from internet users regarding the game’s stability issues, hacks and glitching problems, Black Ops enjoyed the most successful video game launch ever. The Xbox 360 version was the biggest selling of the three release platforms, and at least 1.5 million people who bought it were happy enough with the game to spend more cash on new maps.
