ADSL speed upgrade details

Telkom will begin to upgrade its ADSL line speeds today (11 November 2013) – free of charge – with the speeds of 1Mbps, 2Mbps, and 4Mbps products increased to 2Mbps, 4Mbps, and 10Mbps respectively.

The upgrade process will influence the availability of some of Telkom’s ADSL products, as described below.

As from Monday 11 November, the 4,096kbps option will be removed and replaced with the 10,240 kbps offering
On 18 November 4,096kbps will be available again to replace the current 2,048kbps offering. No 2,048 kbps will be available for the week.
On 25 November 2,048kbps will be available again to replace the current 1,024kbps offering. The 1,024 kbps will then be permanently unavailable.

From 25 November 2013 the following Telkom DSL speeds will be available:

DSL1 – 2,048kbps
DSL2 – 4,096kbps
DSL3 – 10,240kbps
DSL4 – 20,480kbps
DSL5 – 40,960kbps
