Telkom has confirmed that the company is prepared to remove line rental costs from its household ADSL offerings.
Speaking to Business Day TV, Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko confirmed that this was due to a shift in the manner in which Telkom was thinking about its products:
“It is less about lines, and more about the service.”
“Very soon, in your own household, your bill will no longer have ‘line’. It will just be a package of 25GB or 50GB, which will be priced as a service,” said Maseko.
“There will not be an itemized line item called line rental on your bill.”
There has been no official confirmation as to when these changes will take effect.
