Administrators and moderators of KickassTorrents are asking for donations to rebuild the site, reports TorrentFreak.
This follows the site’s takedown in July and the arrest of its founder, Artem Vaulin.
Moderators and other members quickly set up a new forum a few days after KAT went down, and thousands of members have now returned to the community.
The site has now started a fundraising campaign asking for money to repair and rebuild the “authentic KAT site code.”
The team is accepting donations through PayPal and a GoFundMe campaign, hoping to collect several thousands dollars.
“This site we now inhabit is costing money: Money that a few individuals put up to ensure the survival of this Community. This is still not the Kat we all remember, but on a daily basis it is getting closer,” said moderator Johnno23.
