Dragon Age II demo call to arms

21 February 2011

BioWare and EA have launched an initiative to encourage people to download and sign-in with their copy of the Dragon Age II demo across all three major platforms – PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Should one million people sign-in to their EA account with their Dragon Age II demo before 1 March 2011, BioWare will unlock two in-game items for use by the community at large. Progress will be tracked on the Dragon Age II demo download page. The Dragon Age II demo will be available to download worldwdie tomorrow (22 February 2011).

What are these items? The Unstoppable Axe-Bow of Retribution perhaps? The Armour of a Thousand Elf Tears maybe? Could it even be the fabled Hammer of Ser Ban… None of those – it’s a couple of books though.

The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall

Written by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this book of poems describes her dreams of a new start in Kirkwall, the city across the sea. Readers will surely be enriched by her insights. (Gives money when read.)

Lothering’s Lament

Written by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this book of poems contains touching reminiscences of all she had to leave behind. Readers will surely benefit from her experience. (Gives XP boost when read.)

Dragon Age II Call to Arms

For those planning on purchasing the game, there’s further incentive to complete the demo. Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock a special weapon, Hayder’s Razor, an ancient Dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, ready for use in the full release of Dragon Age II.

Dragon Age II is scheduled for launch on the PlayStation3, Xbox 360 and PC on 11 March 2011 in South Africa and Europe.
