Battlefield 3 single player 12 hours long

30 March 2011

There is no doubt that most core FPS fans will be dying to get their hands on Battlefield 3, but most of them would probably tell you that the primary draw card in the multiplayer component.

However, DICE is adamant that a compelling single player campaign is important for the franchise, as it provides an accessible way to “introduce people” to the world of Battlefield.

“A lot of people don’t want to jump straight into multiplayer. They want to feel around a bit and they’re ready to move over to online,” said DICE general manager to Games.on.net.

“The hardcore online people, they don’t care, they’re just straight in. Maybe they don’t even touch the campaign. But we want to get more people in, invite more people into the franchise. That’s one of the main reasons why we have this different part of the game.”

In PR speak “12 hours” roughly translates to “6-10” hours for a seasoned FPS junkie, which is pretty much par for the course with modern shooters.
