Mass Effect 3 detailed, no multiplayer confirmed

8 April 2011

The latest issue of Game Informer mag has hit newsstands all over the planet, and as promised, it’s packing a Mass Effect 3 datamine.
Perhaps most significantly, the article confirms that the third game will not feature any sort of multiplayer mode. There can be only one Commander Shepard.

Some former squad members will be returning, however, including Liara T’Soni, Ashley Williams/Kaiden Alenko, Garrus (assuming he made it), and some guy named James Sanders. Elsewhere, Wrex, Mordin, Anderson, and Legion will be in the game one way or another, but not necessarily as team mates. Shepard’s former patron and obvious secretly-bad guy, The Illusive Man, will definitely turn up too – and this time around, he’s not even pretending to be nice.

The game will apparently open up with Shepard standing trial for his actions in the final Mass Effect 2 DLC add-on, Arrival. So, uh, probably better play that first.
