Project Zomboid devs burgled, “major set-back” suffered

17 October 2011

Yikes, these guys have the worst luck on the planet.

First, an alpha code leak and subsequent yo-ho-ho cluster* forced Project Zomboid offline.

Then PayPal shut The Indie Stone’s account for some rubbish reason or another.

Now two computers with the latest game code have been stolen from a Newcastle apartment where two of the devs live and work.

I’m not a superstitious person, but if I were, I’d say these people are the target of a pandimensional conspiracy, quite possibly infernal in origin.

“The Indie Stone have just suffered a major set-back,” writes Will Porter over on their official blog.

“Project Zomboid was regularly backed up from machine to machine, but rarely – sadly and infuriatingly – externally. We have lost an awful lot of work.

“This will clearly severely delay the next update, which was very near completion. I personally only just finished my work on it today (one of the final things on the ‘to-do’ list) and had it ready for input tomorrow.

“Project Zomboid, however, will come back stronger.”

Until the next disaster, obviously. At this rate, I’m guessing a meteor storm.
