Diablo III free with 1 year WoW subscription

Are you a helpless World of Warcraft addict? Are you ridiculously excited about Diablo III? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then boy do we have news for you.

Blizzard has revealed that players who sign up for a 12 month World of Warcraft subscription automatically get themselves Diablo III, absolutely free.

Blizzard is calling it the World of Warcraft Annual Pass, and not only does it get you a free digital download version of Diablo III, but you also get guaranteed access to the next WoW expansion beta, and an exclusive in-game mount.

The promotion only benefits World of Warcraft players who created their accounts before 18 October 2011, so if you don’t already have one then you’re not eligible.

That doesn’t mean your account needs to be currently active though, so even if you have not ventured into Azeroth in ages but own an account created before 18 October 2011, you still qualify as long as you have an existing WoW account associated with your Battle.net account.

For some inexplicable reason, Blizzard has limited the offer to WoW players living in Europe, North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This means that even if you own an account on the EU or US servers, but you selected South Africa as your country of residence, you will not be able to sign up for the promotion.

However, I was able to change my country of residence to England, after which the offer became available. Of course, this is probably fraud or something and MyGaming does not endorse or recommend that sort of thing, so don’t blame us if you change your residential address and Blizzard freezes your account.

If you do decide to take up the offer, you can opt for a payment method that suits you. The most cost effective option seems to be taking out two back-to-back six-month subscription plans, which combined come to a total of about R1,600 which is paid over the space of 12 months (R133 per month).
