If, after all the positive reviews and difficulty finding a local copy, you still haven’t bothered with BioWare‘s acclaimed Star Wars: The Old Republic – here’s your chance!
From the very specific time of 19:01 SAST on Thursday the 15th of March (that’s today, folks) until 09:00 SAST on Monday the 19th of March, would-be Jedi and Sith have a chance to dip their toes in the enormous Star Wars universe.
There are a couple of limitations, however.
The Weekend Pass only allows access to the opening adventures of each of the eight character classes in the game until reaching their faction’s capital world.
Further limitations that Pass players can expect are: a level cap of 15 on any given character; a block on sending or receiving in-game mails; and no access to general, trade or PvP chat.
PvP-loving Pass players will have the opportunity to face off against their foe in Warzones, and the more PvE-loving types can group up to experience the challenges of some of the earlier Flashpoints.
Newbies are assured that no payment method is required to have access this weekend.
Have fun!
