Ubisoft chose not to show off their upcoming shooter Rainbow 6: Patriots at the biggest video game showcase of the year, saying it was “the best thing for the brand”. Sure, that makes sense.
Ubisoft exec Tony Key has confirmed that the game is still in active development, but isn’t saying how far along it actually is at this point.
“What we decided was that the best thing for the brand was to not bring it to the show right now,” Key said.
According to Ubisoft, their E3 showing was already too full due to big titles on show such as Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Watch Dogs.
“We have a lot of other games that we want to focus people on and there will be more information on Rainbow coming.”
On whether or not the game will be for current generation consoles, Key said:
“This is the only generation that I know about, so I would assume yes.”
