Man gets trolled with fake Samsung hard drive

A man in China bought a Samsung hard drive which never actually contained the promised hardware.

Bought through Taobao, a popular Chinese customer-to-customer online store, the man found the 160GB drive to only contain a fraction of the drive’s storage capacity when he plugged it into his computer.

Upon removing the casing, the buyer found that the innards had been removed and replaced with a bunch of nuts and bolts glued to the base. A small USB drive was linked to the cable input, creating the illusion that the product was a fully-fledged hard drive.

The $35 fake is a warning to those purchasing second hand electronic through online stores.
