E3 has come and gone, and Sony’s latest handheld was a no-show at the show. A no-show-show? Yeah, that works. It’s probably also some sort of exotic noodle dish, maybe seasoned with deep-fried, crispy arachnids, but I digress.
In an interview with Develop, Sony Worldwide Studio boss Shuhei Yoshida admitted that they could probably have made a bigger deal of the PlayStation Vita, after the company got a lot of complaints on Twitter.
“In retrospect, we should’ve spent more time showing and talking about our PS Vita titles,” he said. “We [had] 25 PS Vita games playable on the show floor, some of which are really great titles I’m very excited about. We could have spent more time talking about those, but we had a very clear intention this year to make the total press conference shorter, because we’re notorious for holding lengthy ones.
“I hope we accomplished that with this year’s conference, but from the perspective of people who are waiting for more information on Vita titles, we weren’t able to provide that.”
Last month, Sony announced that they had sold 1.8 million PS Vitas worldwide since launch. That’s one-point-eight million customers who are very disappointed with you, Shuhei.
