With the recently announced super-sized 3DS XL making it’s way to South African shores on 28 July 2012, Nintendo wants local gamers to get some hands-on time with their new big brother hand-held before its official launch.

Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town gamers will have the chance to play with the new device at a number of events.

If you want to get involved, check out the details below and warm up your hands for Nintendo’s forthcoming 3DS XL:

In terms of the damage, the extra-large 3DS is set to cost around R2,349 (RRP).

We do know that the 3DS XL will come with a 4GB SD card in the box, and will be available in blue, red or silver. However, an AC adapter will not be included as Nintendo expects a majority of its new owners to be upgrading from an existing Nintendo handheld.
