Halo fans look to be occupied for the next decade or so, as Microsoft has picked up enough domains to cover several sequels.
The franchise owner has snapped up the following domains: halo7.net, halo7.org, halo8.org, halo9.net and halo9.org, courtest of MarkMonitor, an internet brand protection company.
Halo 4’s release has been confirmed for November 6th, and developer 343 industries has said in an interview that it “has a definite story arc in mind” for future sequels Halo 5 and Halo 6.
The franchise clearly shows no signs of slowing down, and if sales stay consistently high, there’s no reason why it should. Gamers are not yet done with Master Chief.
Microsoft posted an ad back in July calling for an experienced graphics developer to work on “the next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe”. It’s entirely possible Halo 4 may be the last Halo game we see on the Xbox 360 platform, as 5 and onwards may be saved for the next generation.
