Gaming events happening this weekend

This weekend is undoubtedly one of the biggest of the year for local gamers.

The annual rAge expo is the obvious highlight, with gamers coming from all across the country to get in on the action, but there’s also an event for Capetonians this weekend.

rAge 2012 (Johannesburg)

This year’s rAge expo is aiming to be the biggest yet, with a number the biggest games to get your hands on, along with all the other e-Sports and various gaming activities to check out.

Expo details

The rAge expo 2012 will be taking place from 5 –7 October at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg.

Expo Times

  • Friday: 10:00 – 18:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 – 18:00
  • Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00

Admission

  • Per person: R60
  • Weekend ticket: R100
  • Family pass (two adults and two children): R180
  • Kids under six: Free
  • NAG LAN ticket: R350

12th GAC LAN event (Cape Town)

For those of you in the Western Cape who won’t make it to Joburg this weekend, you can look forward to the 12th GAC LAN event happening in Cape Town.

The LAN will incorporate gaming, a DC++ server, and some braai-ing, along with a bunch of prizes on offer.

All you’ve got to bring is a PC with double power plug, headphones, sleeping bag and mattress, good attitude, snacks, meat to braai, and booze (over 18 only).

The venue (Abe Sher Stadium) is open from Friday afternoon to Sunday Morning and the damage is R100 for the whole weekend.

    NAG LAN happens once a year, I doubt the NAG LAN would be that impressive if it was every month, would it now?
