Borderlands 2 DLC info leaked

10 October 2012

We already knew that there would be at least four major expansions for Borderlands 2, and it looks like the first one is something called Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty. Which also sounds like one of Scooter’s dirty magazines, although that may or may not be a coincidence.

Details about the DLC have been revealed following the addition of new achievements alongside the launch of yesterday’s Mechromancer DLC, as well as information excavated from the PC version’s source files.

According to PS3Trophies, the DLC includes three new achievements, one of them awarded for discovering “all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate’s Booty areas”. So there’s also a whole new location, apparently.

Meanwhile, over on the Gearbox forums, PC file hunters have found in-game dialogue introducing the DLC:

“Legends speak of Captain Blade’s Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great, that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them.”

The source files also make references to a new “Seraph” rarity level, new class heads, new bosses, and new items and weapons like Blood Relic, Anshin Evolution Shield, Scarlett’s Greed, 12 Pounder, Little Evie, and Stinkpot.

Now I suppose we just wait around for Gearbox to confirm a launch date.
