I think that we misinterpret this whole debacle over the casual gamer vs the core gamer. It’s more a case of the casual market has grown/is growing, far greater than the core market ever will. Weather the core gamer will ever suffer from this though, remains to be seen. Will the focus in a few years be more towards the casual market? It might just be, unfortunately However, what goes up, might come down? What will happen when the all too greedy EA and co try and sink their long teeth into the casual market? It’s about money, and not so much about “who’s been around the longest”.
