Internet service provider (ISP) OpenWeb is trying to attract the attention of gamers by offering free “Gold level” ADSL accounts.

“We have noticed that over the last few weeks, clients from various ISP’s are suffering from high latency, effectively preventing gamers from playing,” the company said in a press statement.

“There is nothing worse than being booted from your game due to your ISP’s inability to keep latency at bay. Thus, we have decided to extend a helping hand for the rest of November 2012 to those affected. We will be granting access to our Gold level ADSL network to the first 200 folks to take us up on this obligation-free offer.”

OpenWeb ADSL will be offering the first takers the following:

  • Free 1GB Gold Capped unshaped ADSL account.
  • Access to a Gold network service level.
  • Low latency, and high priority on the network.
  • IPC nodes in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, offering even lower latencies to clients in these areas.

The terms of the deal are as follows:

  • The account will be valid until the end of November 2012.
  • The account will not auto-renew, thus the client would not have to submit a cancellation request for it.
  • If they wish to renew, they may simply order a new account from our easy to use interface.
  • The account allows for up to 10 concurrent ADSL lines to be connected to it at a time.
  • It runs at the speed of your ADSL line.
