Nvidia, Nyko bring gamepad to Android

8 November 2012

Nvidia and Nyko have teamed up to bring a console-like gamepad to Android devices.

The Nyko PlayPad is an adaptor/controller that connects to your Android smartphone, giving a level of control and precision when that touch scheme just doesn’t cut it.

The controller was co-created with Nvidia, and prioritised for games running on TEGRA 2 and TEGRA 3 chips.

The PlayPad comes with Nyko’s Playground app, which allows users to customise and tweak the controller layout.

Features Include:

  • Easily control your favorite tablet games with console like precision
  • Optimized HID protocol for Tegra 3 based devices and games
  • Includes Nyko’s free Playground app with the ability to customize controller layout and download game profiles for older titles
  • Playground supports the following controller input: Keyboard Mapping, Mouse, Touch Event Mapping
  • HID, Keyboard mapping, mouse emulation, and touch mapping support make PlayPad Pro compatible with 100s of titles

The Nyko Playpad is currently listed on Amazon for $34.78 (R300).
