Dishonored publisher drops sequel hints

28 November 2012

Bethesda and Arkane Studios’ stealth-’em-up Dishonored has been a hit with both critics and gamers, and big sales for the game have apparently made its a pretty serious prospect for a sequel. Exactly nobody is surprised, I’m sure. Just like the last time I tried to infiltrate the Golden Cat.

“I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter,” a Bethesda rep told Destructoid.

“So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise.”

In the meantime, Arkane is prepping at least three DLC add-ons for Dishonored, with the first – a series of challenge maps packaged as Dunwall City Trials – due to launch on 11 December. Two campaign expansions have been confirmed for release next year, but not much additional info has been disclosed.

Dishonored has also been nominated in six categories for the annual Spike TV Video Game Awards, including Game of the Year.
