IS Gaming says they will show more support for South Africa’s gaming community in 2013, working with gamers to improve on their broadband offerings.
“IS Gaming seeks to deepen its relationship with the gaming community in 2013,” said Sameer Parker, Business Development Manager at IS.
“South Africa holds incredible gaming talent, and some local gamers are making a name for themselves internationally,” said Parker regarding the calibre of gaming in SA.
“Our gamers require support – IS Gaming believes broadband speed is holding them back from reaching their potential internationally, and it is here that we can add value.”
Parker added that IS is dedicated to strengthening the support and collaboration with the local gamers and continuing to improve upon the company’s offerings.
“In 2013 we will build on the services and support that we already provide the gaming community. IS Gaming’s reputation is beginning to soar in gaming circles due to the quality of our network, thanks to a solid infrastructure provided by Internet Solutions.”

As a person who sits in the bad position of having to play with a low cap limit, my bandwidth gets throttled when I reach that limit. Luckily for me I am still able to connect to the Internet and play online, but my usual 12mbps+ speed gets downgraded to around 256k. Whether I play with the former speed or with the latter speed, my ping stays fairly the same (SA servers give me 35ms). I am also very aware of how our infrastructure and distance to international servers affect the latency issues that we experience. Thus, I cannot see for one bit how faster line speeds will benefit South African gamers.
