Win big with GameState

8 December 2009

GameState is a recently launched Internet based gaming show that is produced locally. The show has been added to the Zoopy TV line-up, and features reviews, previews, interviews and local game launches and events.

The channel currently features 14 high quality videos, with more videos added on a weekly basis. The videos all stream at 1280×720 and are generally between 10MB and 20MB in size. Content currently being aired includes video reviews for Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3, and Operation Flashpoint 2 as well as interviews with the likes of SA’s “Xbox 360 ambassador” Werner “MiNeM” Joubert and coverage of the Modern Warfare 2 launch event.

The videos are all hosted by an energetic and likable presenter, Grant Hinds, who exhibits a refreshing degree of knowledge when reviewing and discussing games.

The quality of the presenting and video fidelity came as a pleasant surprise, and the show features a solid mix of video reviews which feature decent quality in-game footage and interviews with interesting local personalities.

“The most epic gaming show. Ever. Seriously.” Reads the show’s tongue-in-cheek catch phrase, and while this may be a slight over exaggeration, GameState certainly looks like the best locally produced show for gaming enthusiasts. The only obvious downside is that GameState is not hosted locally.

The show has only just launched, and the producers are still looking to tweak it to suit what local gamers want. They are therefore asking for feedback and suggestions, and will award a Megarom sponsored gaming hamper to the person who sends in “the most valuable feedback.”

Additionally, they are offering a R1000 Kalahari.net gift voucher to the publication from which the best suggestion comes. If the winner happens to be a MyGaming reader, then we will pass the voucher on to them.

All you need to do to stand a chance to win a bunch of games and R1000 Kalahari voucher is send your feedback to [email protected].

“Include as many details as possible, with descriptions of what’s working and what’s not.

Suggestions must include the entrant’s email address, contact phone number, console/s of choice and relevant website or community they represent.”

Entries close on December 18.
