Half-Life comes to Mac and Linux

29 January 2013

Valve has released Half-Life on Mac and Linux – finally. The original game was released to Windows PC in 1998.

The game was ported to the new platforms and quietly released, appearing on Steam in a fashionably late manner.

The influential game is priced at US$9.99, and should inject some sci-fi nostalgia onto Apple and penguin-powered systems.

Half-Life now joins Valve’s other title, Left 4 Dead 2, on Linux.

Valve also recently encouraged Windows and Mac users to try out Linux.
