Rockstar denies “sue the s*** out of me” claim

Rockstar has denied director and writer Frank Darabont’s claims that the publisher will “sue the s***” out of him.

The original story saw Darabont announce that he is working on a new TV show, to be called “LA Noir”, set in Los Angeles during 1947.

Darabont then said that the name of the show will change, claiming that: “the video game company with the video game called L.A. Noire (with an e!) threatened to sue the shit out of me”.

As expected, internet citizens thought Rockstar were being a bully, but Rockstar’s holding company, Take-Two, has responded to clear up the mess.

“Take-Two never contacted Mr. Darabont nor threatened to sue any party,” said a Take-Two spokesperson. “The facts are that Take-Two reached out to [Turner Broadcasting System, parent company of TNT] to express concern over confusion between the properties and they responded that they had decided to change the title of the show independent of Take-Two’s concerns.”

Take-Two also feels that Darabont’s claims about a purported lawsuits are purely for exposure. “It’s unfortunate that Mr. Darabont finds it necessary to gain publicity by making inaccurate statements,” the company said.
