Norwegian streaming video tech company Making View has a very impressive 360-degree video technology called ViewCam. The tech has actually been around since 2011, but I have only recently become aware of it myself, so I thought I’d share.
The ViewCam is a lightweight, remote controlled, standalone 360° video system, which enables shooting of 360° video. The ViewCam can capture footage of quite extreme experiences, such as wingsuit flying and downhill mountain biking.
It weighs approximately 600 grams and can be mounted on anything from an athlete’s helmet, to an airplane, or even an F1 race car.
On the web tech side, the videos created can be delivered using Flash and HTML 5, with a customisable user interface and easily embeddable code.
