DayZ standalone getting weekly content

18 February 2013

Super-popular Arma 2 mod DayZ is arriving in a standalone retail form soon, and its been announced that DayZ will receive content updates every week.

“There will be less weapons in the standalone – but it allows us the ability to continue each week to release content updates with new weapons and items,” said Dean Hall, who was explaining that every weapon has been rebuilt from scratch in extremely high detail.

The content updates will also encompass clothing varieties and other items, as the “list of planned items is huge”.

Hall also confirmed that private servers will be supported at launch.

While there is no specific release date, the DayZ standalone is expected to release within the coming months.
