Local distributor Ster Kinekor has issued a formal apology for the delay of the Xbox 360 version of Darksiders.
The game was supposed to be on shelves for both PS3 and Xbox 360 last week Friday. The PS3 version of the game made it in time but the Xbox 360 version did not.
The delay was caused by extreme weather conditions in Europe which led to a number of international flights being delayed.
The Xbox 360 version of the game was delayed 48 hours and arrived in SA on Saturday morning. Deliveries to retailers then began on Monday morning. The game is now on shelves around the country.
About Darksiders
The basic premise for Darksiders is about as epic as they come. Players take on the role of one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse; War. An unknown event has caused the other three horsemen to begin the apocalypse early and War is held accountable. The Charred Council sentence War to death, however, he pleads with them to let him travel to earth to discover the source of the destruction.
Gameplay consists of action heavy button mashing combat sequences which enable War to harvest souls. Souls are used to purchase new moves and weapons, however it remains to be seen just how dynamic the actual combat is. Later on War unlocks his Chaos form which players can tap into by maxing out his Chaos Gauge.
