Bioshock 2 to feature DLC content

19 January 2010

Although the original release of Bioshock saw very little offered in the way of downloadable content (PC and Xbox 360 players were offered a number of new abilities while the PS3 release featured extra challenge levels) developer 2K Marin has revealed that the follow up will “absolutely” feature DLC content, adding that its plans for the game are “pretty aggressive”.

“We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that’s actually something that is already under-way,” systems designer Kent Hudson recently told Australian Gamer.

“That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing.”

It is not yet clear what the production team intends to release for additional content after the game’s release. It has been confirmed however that Bioshock 2, unlike its predecessor, will feature rich multiplayer functionality – perhaps making it easier for 2K Marin to develop DLC content.

Bioshock 2 will be released internationally on February the 9th.
