Metro 2033 release date confirmed

A release date for post apocalyptic shooter Metro 2033, which will hit PC and Xbox 360, has been confirmed.

The horror title featuring RPG elements is due to become available on March the 19th in Europe and three days earlier in North America announced developed THQ this morning.

In addition the company also revealed that the game will see a special edition release which will include an exclusive in game weapon – entitled “the formidable automatic shotgun” and four “art cards” by Russian painter Anton Grechk reports Shack News. Pricing for this edition was not confirmed.

In addition to this “selected retailers” will be rewarding pre order customers with “Metro 2033 themed Xbox LIVE Avatar items.”

Metro 2033, set in 2033, will revolve around a Moscow set post apocalyptic story line in which the player – Artyom, must emerge from the underground to the heart of the Metro system.
