Star Wars: Battlefront announced by DICE, EA

10 June 2013

As expected, EA and DICE have revealed that they are in fact working on a new Star Wars: Battlefront entry, following EA’s acquisition of the Star Wars game rights.

DICE aired a small clip of the game, which showed the battle of Hoth from the perspective of a foot soldier. A Rebel Snow Speeder makes a brief appearance (before ploughing into the ground), and an AT-AT’s foot slams down beside the soldier.

There were no other details about the game, however, the knowledge that DICE is behind such a strong franchise and IP is exciting.

Expect to hear more about Star Wars: Battlefront in the coming months.
