Earlier this week we reported that Makro is currently running an epic special on the XBox 360 Elite Edition bundle. For R2999, you can currently get an Xbox 360 Elite along with Fable 2 and Halo 3.
If R2999 is still a little bit out of your budget however, Look&Listen is currently running a special on the Xbox 360 Arcade. Although it’s not quite as impressive as Makro’s special, it may entice would be console owners who have no need for the storage space of the Elite Edition.
The 120GB harddrive that ships with the Elite is a must for anyone thinking of downloading any of the awesome games available over the Xbox Live marketplace. Some retail games also use the harddrive space for additional content. For instance, Forza 3 ships on two disks, and a harddrive is required to install the second disk which consists of about 100 cars.
Still, the Arcade is a great compromise if you can’t stretch your budget to R2999. The bundle on special also includes 3 games, although, they’re not exactly musts haves. The entire bundle includes the console, 256MB Internal Memory, 1 x wireless controller, Lego Batman, Pure and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
The Xbox 360 Arcade usually sells for around R2200, and that’s without any games.
