Just Cause 2 demo hits 2 million downloads

18 March 2010

Publisher Square Enix has announced that the demo for its sandbox over-the-top action title, Just Cause 2, has been downloaded over 2 million times around the world.

The demo has been available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC since early this month, and since it was released players have racked up 30 million kills and 2.5 million headshots.

I downloaded the demo last night using Webafrica’s bandwidth free Steam mirror, and was highly impressed with it. It has been described as “one of the largest playable sandbox demos of all time.”

The full game is scheduled for release on March 26 in Europe, and should hit local retail shelves shortly thereafter.
