Cricketgaming.net  reports that Codemasters has confirmed that a new cricket game will be released this year.

Following the disappointment of Ashes Cricket last year, I’m not sure how I feel about this.

On the bright side, Transmission Games – the developer behind Ashes 09 – is not longer operating, so Codemasters will have to give a new studio the duty of building a new game.

“Following last year’s success of Ashes 2009, we are not resting on our cricketing laurels,” said Codemasters’ UK General Manager, going on to say “we’ll soon be talking about the evolution of our cricket series, which will make a triumphant return later this year.”
