Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tops March sales charts

Publishers Electronic Arts have announced that sales for recently released first person shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 have been more than impressive, adding that the title may become one of the company’s bestselling March releases ever in the US and Europe.

“This is a testament to the massive response players have had worldwide for the extraordinary action experienced in the Battlefield sandbox,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer, Battlefield Franchise recently.

“DICE and EA have brought more servers online. We now have enough capacity to handle all BFBC2 connections seamlessly and we continue to monitor online play daily.”

The following statistics were supplied by EA:

– 81 billion points have been earned in online multiplayer sessions

– 43 million weapons and gadgets have been unlocked in online multiplayer

– Over 6 million video views on YouTube

– 2.9 million hours have been spent playing online in the last 24 hours alone

– 230 000 peak-concurrent-users (PCUs)

– Over 44 000 Twitter fans (the most of any EA title)
