Activision Blizzard restructures organisation

Without making any formal announcements, mega publisher Activision Blizzard has reshuffled itself into four clear segments.

The first segment will focus on the Call of Duty franchise, the second on “company-owned” franchises such as Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk, the third on licensed games such as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Spider-Man. The fourth segment is Blizzard, which will continue to operate independently.

Activision has also trimmed some fat, so to speak, by terminating 15 high level employees.

This is the first time the publisher has reshuffled its deck since it merged with Vivendi in 2008, and essentially acquired Blizzard.
