Epic Games’ CliffyB “Don’t call him CliffyB” CliffyB is appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night on 8 April, and according to the host’s Twitter, the man who invented a gun with a chainsaw bayonet will be announcing a new game on the show. Now, Epic’s likely to be working on several projects at the moment, including a Shadow Complex sequel, a possible Painkiller title, maybe even some new Unreal Tournament game, and – hear the fanboys roar – Gears of War 3.

Of course, reasonable speculation could lead to any of these, but informed speculation says it’s the third Gears game. Edge Online broke a story recently, claiming Gears of War 3 was coming April 2011, with a trailer allegedly dropping (wait for it) on 8 April. Coincidence? There’s no such thing as coincidences. Just pretend to be surprised or something.

It’s only a week to wait, anyway. In the meantime, there’s still that Seriously 2.0 achievement to work on.
