Modern Warfare 3 delayed

12 April 2010

The legal feud which is currently boiling over between former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella and mega publisher Activision is reportedly delaying the development of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

According to Kotaku recently filed court documents regarding the case show that Activision’s primary complaint is that West and Zampella’s efforts to break away from Activision and form a new studio is “delaying pre-production of Modern Warfare 3” and that this delay is being used as “leverage in their negotiations with Activision”.

The documents also add that “as a direct and proximate result of this breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, Activision has been forced to commit additional resources to Modern Warfare 3”.

Right now nothing is clear regarding the development of the next title in the modern warfare franchise. No doubt Activision is itching to quickly follow up on the success of the first two iterations, which have subsequently become some of the most popular games ever to have been released.

At least we will have something to read about while we wait, with baited breath, for more information.
