No Fuss Reviews has revealed its findings from a survey conducted over the past few months. Using a dedicated search engine which brought over 500,000 users to the survey page, they were able to gather findings which reflect an unusually large user base.
To prevent duplicate applicants, the survey made use of email addresses and session timers.
The survey revealed the following:
First time console failure rates
42% of Xbox 360 owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.
8% of PS3 owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.
Less than 1% of Wii owners have had a console replaced or repaired due to fault.
Second time console failure rates
Of those who have had to have their first console replaced or repaired:
55% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.
12% of PS3 owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.
0% of Wii owners had to have their second console repaired or replaced.

Of those who have had to replace or repair 2 consoles:
39% of Xbox 360 owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a third time.

0% of Wii owners had to have their console replaced or repaired a sixth time.
As expected, the Xbox 360 came in as the most unreliable console. Fortunately recent hardware revisions have made current Xbox 360 consoles far more reliable than earlier generations.
