Activision counter-sues Modern Warfare creators

12 April 2010

Things at Activision HQ got real messy a few weeks back, when the publisher fired Infinity Ward studio heads Vincent Zampella and Jason West, claiming that the two “morphed from valued, responsible executives into insubordinate and self-serving schemers who attempted to hijack Activision’s assets for their own personal gain.”

The two then filed a law suit against the publisher, claiming that they had not received full payment for their work on Modern Warfare 2.

Activision is now suing Zampella and West on the grounds that they violated their employment contracts by meeting with EA, and trying to coax former colleagues at Infinity Ward into joining a new studio that they are setting up.

An attorney representing the two responded, saying that Activision’s claims were “false and outrageous”.
