Bad Company 2 gets co-op, “Onslaught Mode” exclusive to consoles

12 May 2010

To celebrate Bad Company 2 exceeding the 5 million units sold mark, DICE and EA have announced a brand new mode for the military themed shooter.

Onslaught mode sounds a lot like Gears of War’s Horde Mode. Players can go online and team up with up to three friends against AI enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay.

The maps have been completely redesigned, and feature new lighting, vehicles, time of day and more. Each map has a unique objective and gameplay focus.

“We want to consistently support the fans playing the game with new ways to get into multiplayer and also challenge the elite players with new experiences to improve their performance online. Effective squad play is the key to success in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer and this new mode will provide players with a dedicated environment to test their team skills and rank against the competition,” said DICE senior producer Patrick Back.

Sadly, this game mode has only been confirmed for PS3 and Xbox 360.
