Microsoft offers USD100 for PS3 trade-ins

Microsoft is offering a $100 discount on the purchase of an Xbox One console when trading in an old console, including Xbox 360 and PS3.

The offer is valid in retail stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, and is limited to one trade-in per customer.

This will knock down the price down from US$499 to US$399 – in line with the launch price of the PS4.

The trade-in money doesn’t have to be used for an Xbox One, but if the purchase goes toward something else, you may not get the full $100 value.

Meanwhile, there is no sign of the Xbox One in South Africa, but the current rumours peg it for an October 2014 launch.
