Papers, Please – the game where players take the role of an immigration inspector in the communist state of Arstotzka – was the emphatic winner at the 2014 IGF awards, taking home 3 out of a total 8 awards on offer.
The Windows and Mac game, developed by Lucas Pope, won the awards for excellence in design, excellence in narrative, and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.
Upon receiving his awards Pope said:”You’re looking at the peak of my career.”
The IGF awards are a good indicator of the top indie games you will be playing in the near future, and past winners include Minecraft and South African-born game Desktop Dungeons.
