Xbox guy Aaron Greenberg should probably invest in one of those pyro suits, because he’s about to come under the world’s biggest firebomb – the PS3 Defence Force. The declaration of an almost certain holocaust/lolocaust? 

“Just in from research team (NPD): Halo 3 has outsold Resistance 1 + 2, Uncharted 1+2, Killzone 2 and God of War III COMBINED…wow,” posted on Greenberg’s Twitter last night.

Obviously, anyone who knows anything about video games knows that console sales figures are obviously the most important thing ever, and obviously any statements claiming dominance are lies and propaganda disseminated by obviously unscrupulous news sites obviously being paid off by Microsoft or Sony. Obviously. 

Meanwhile, according to sales tracker VG Chartz – updated in line with NPD data – Halo 3’s last count was at 11.01 million units shifted. The PS3 titles cited come in at:

Resistance: Fall of Man – 3.69 million

Resistance 2 – 1.88 million

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune – 3.18 million

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – 3.29 million

Killzone 2 – 2.30 million

God of War III – 2.55 million

Added up, these total 16.89 million.

Because someone out there is inevitably going to say it if I don’t (and likely will, regardless), other notable Sony exclusives like Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4 aren’t included. Not that it’s relevant, of course, but I’m sure it really, really, really matters anyway.
