Mythic now “Bioware Mythic”

6 July 2010

Last year EA made some organisational adjustments to its developer structure, announcing that Bioware (Mass Effect, Dragon Age) and Mythic Entertainment (Warhammer Online) would be bundled together under their new multiplayer/roleplaying game division.

Mythic head honcho Mark Jacobs left the studio at this time.

Now EA has taken things a step further and renamed Mythic, now known as Bioware Mythic. Although Warhammer Online was met with excellent reviews, its subscriber base began to shrink soon after release, and 63 of its servers were shut down in March last year.

EA gave no indication that the name change would have any practical effect on the studio’s functioning.
