Medal of Honor PC and PS3 beta now open

6 July 2010

Previously beta keys for the new Medal of Honor were only given to those who pre-ordered the game. The beta trial has been running since 21 June. Now FilePlanet is offering free beta keys to any and all who subscribe to their site. No paid subscription is required, so one can simply register a free account with FilePlanet, and then follow the registration process to receive their beta key.

Gamers will also be required to register an EA account, and then redeem the key they received through FilePlanet at the Medal of Honor beta site. The multiplayer beta client can be downloaded from either location. Currently PC and PS3 owners can take advantage, while Xbox 360 owners will have to hang on as their free beta key opportunity is ‘coming soon.’

The new Medal of Honor is a series reboot – the original appeared on the PS1 to critical acclaim. The single player campaign is spread between multiple characters, ‘Tier One Operators’ working under the National Command Authority in Afghanistan circa 2001. There will also be featured moments when the player takes on the role of an Army Ranger fighting large scale battles.

Medal of Honor is set for an October release date.
