Maxis has revealed that its upcoming sci-fi action RPG will be released in February 2011. The game will use the creature editing tool introduced in Spore. 

Executive producer Mark Perry says “the game is about loot,” and adding “great heroes” to you party which can be used to battle the Darkspore. 

The currency in Spore is DNA, and there will be a solo campaign as well as online co-op.
