Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on 18 November 2014, while the PC version will ship on 27 January 2015.
The developers have promised “major visual and technical” upgrades, including increased draw distances and higher res visuals.
Rockstar is also promising:
- New weapons, vehicles, and activities
- Additional wildlife
- Denser traffic
- New foliage system
- Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more
“Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will also feature enhanced radio selections with over 100 additional new songs and new DJ mixes from returning DJs across the game’s 17 radio stations,” said Rockstar.
All players who pre-order the game will also get $1 million in-game currency to spend in GTA 5 and GTA Online.
PS4 and Xbox One gamers will be treated to rare, classic vehicles in the next-gen version of the game, including the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane, and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp.
“Enhancements to Grand Theft Auto Online include an increased player count, with online play now for up to 30 players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.”
“All existing gameplay upgrades and Rockstar-created content released since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online will also be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with much more to come.”
Existing players will be able to transfer their GTA Online characters and progress to the new version of the game.
